I am a woman, a wife, and a mother. I'm in my 30s, I've been married for more than a decade, I've given birth 4 times and have traveled across the world to add another sweet little one to our family.
I started this blog just before my husband, Anthony, and I left for a trip to Rwanda to drop off our dossier (paperwork) in hopes of adopting a son from that beautiful country. The blog was to be a space for our friends and family to stay up to date on our journey.
That was in the spring of 2008.
Over the years, this little blog has turned into something much more than that to me. It has been a space where I have thought through different issues surrounding adoption and being a transracial family. It is a place where I have been able to share my personal journey, the heartache and tears, the joys and relief, the hope and the despair. It has been a place to put my thoughts and prayers.
And it has blessed my soul.
And if by chance, it has touched another. If it has helped someone else in their journey...well, that blesses my soul too.
